Christmas Greetings

A Christmas Prayer by Robert Louis Stevenson
"We thank you for this place in which we dwell, for the love that unites us, for the peace accorded to us this day, for the hope with which we expect the morrow, for the work, the health, the food and bright skies which make our lives delightful, for our friends in all parts of the earth."
With love, The Tomich Family (Chad, Alicia and Evan)

Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year. Our families get together at the Tomich's for this holiday. This makes it more "mellow" than Christmas-time when we are running around like crazy. It's amazing how over the last three years, there are now three little ones around the table: Bella, Evan and Ava. Those that have gone before us are reflected in the eyes of our newest members and our family is whole again. I'm thankful for these little lives who very simply connect us with both our past and future. It's really amazing.

Young Jedi

Not very long ago, in a neighborhood not so far away, the young Jedi Evan embarked on his first mission to free some candy from their captors.
The battle to wiggle the small boy into his robes was short, but intense. Once fully dressed, he was determined to complete his mission. Evan’s two companions (aka Mommy and Daddy) were focused on recording the mission for the Jedi archives. However, the Dark side was against them and caused the power cells in all their recording equipment to fail! (Batteries in both the camera and video camera died as we got to the first house…geez.) But, because the Force is strong in this one, some information was recorded and the mission was a complete success.

First Haircut

My baby is gone. In his place is a little boy. Not exactly, but that's what he looks like. Bye-bye to the shaggy locks. We found a cute children's hair salon, Balloon Cuts in Encinitas. It was time to get the haircut so people would stop confusing him for a girl, and so he can see where he's going. At first, he was a little hesitant about the whole situation. Once they started playing a Baby Einstein video on the big screen T.V., he was fine.

New Cousin Ava

She was due November 8. But, it seems this little one wanted to hurry things up a bit. Evan's cousin Ava was born on Tuesday, October 18 weighing in at 6 lbs. 5 ozs, 19 inches tall. Needless to say, she is tiny and precious. This is a picture of Evan with Tio Kevin, Cousin Bella, Tia Melonnie and Baby Ava.

Roar

No other reason to post this picture other than Evan looking adorable. It's been a couple of cold blustery days lately. Out came his barely used jackets and voila, cutie-pie. This little jacket won't last too much longer though.
I took this picture as we were about to go out for a walk. Can you tell that he is very excited to get out of the house today?

Time for Halloween

We went with our very own "Punkin' Pie" to a local pumpkin patch in San Marcos last night. There were piles of pumpkins, mini-pumpkins to huge pumpkins, of all colors and shapes. They had a little petting zoo with baby goats, sheep, bunnies, chickens, and a pot-bellied pig. After a bit of exploring, Evan helped pick out the perfect pumpkin for this Halloween.

Bella's Birthday No. 3

We had a very busy time at Bella's birthday party this weekend. Since she had recently started pre-school, there were plenty of friends to share in the festivities. We were exhausted by the end of it. Happy Birthday to my favorite cousin!
These are pictures of Evan with Tio Renato and of Bella, when she took a break from all the running around!

One Year Old

Well, he's finally one. He has gone from newborn to toddler in the blink of an eye. It's been a magical journey discovering who this amazing little person is. He is a beautiful spirit, lovely and free. There is a good mix of both Daddy and Mommy's personalities in him. We are blessed to be his parents and honored to share our life with him. Where did the year go? (Sigh)
Here are some pictures of him this morning modeling a "chullo" that Mami Zoila brought him from Peru, and eating some organic birthday cake...it really was yummy.

Evan's Birthday Party

What a day! Friends and family came to wish our boy a Happy Birthday. After all the planning, it was a busy time that ended too quickly. Thank you to everyone who made the trek to our house! We hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as we enjoyed having you there!

Lead Brewer

Chad has been working at Stone Brewing Company (http://www.stonebrew.com) for the last two and a half years. Here's a picture of him in all his stinky glory. Evan and I went to visit him one day last weekend. Just like the premise of the new Discovery Channel show, "Dirty Jobs", someone's got to do it, right?

11 months old

His first year is coming to a close. Unbelievable. This tiny little person has integrated himself into our lives so it's nearly impossible to imagine what it was like before him. He's our buddy, our little guy, our friend, our love. Mind you, he can test a person's patience with his will. But he can also make your heart melt with his smile. What an adventure this has been!

He's Walking

Yes, he's walking. Watch out world here he comes! Our boy took his first few steps last month and things will never be the same.

10 months

This is a picture of Evan last month during our visit to Mami Trini and Papi Didier's house in Oregon. He is starting to look like such a little man. Where did my baby boy go? He's growing up too fast.

Welcome

Howdy, we hope you enjoy visiting and checking up on our little family. With friends and family abroad, this is a way to stay close. Visit often!
